Energy Management for Sustainable Development - Canguçu Research Center
What it is:
Reinforce isolated energy systems with Fuel Cells.
Where:
Canguçu Research Center.
Duration Time:
2004 to 2007.
Partners:
CT-ENERG, CNPq, Science and Technology Ministry, Federal University of Tocantins – UFT, Barbosa & Barbosa, with financing from the Environment Ministry.
Component:
Science, renewable energy.

Canguçu Research Center.
OBJECTIVE
The principal objective of this project is to provide clean energy for the Canguçu Research Center, by installing in the location electricity generation through the use of solar panels and storage in fuel cells.
The concept of this project is in agreement with the Brazilian National Forum of Climatic Change that is the creation of a program for the substitution of thermoelectric plants for systems based on clean technologies.
The main components of clean energy systems are: solar panels with electricity generators for the electrolysis of water, a system of hydrogen storage and a fuel cell energy system or internal combustion engine adapted to use hydrogen as a fuel.
THE ROLE OF THE ECOLOGICA INSTITUTE IN THE PROJECT
The Ecological team accompany the implementation of the project together with the team from the Tocantins Federal University, executor of the project and responsible for the management of the Canguçu Research Center.
