THE PROJECT

The project mediates in 14 rural communities in the Tocantins State: PA Provi and PA Riozinho in Pium, Acoplas I, II and III in Araguatins, PA Chapadinha and PA Araguaia in Goianorte, PA Rio Vermelho in Centenário, PA ATR in Dianópolis, PA Astrar in Chapada de Areia, PA União Tocantinense in Peixe, PA União in Barrolândia, PA Condomínio São Pedro in Araguacema and PA Aprazul in Tocantínia. Approximately 300 agricultural families will be benefited. 

The themes worked on are: Associativism and Cooperatives, Agroecology, Bio-jewelry, Commercialization of Family Production, Preparation for Leadership, Sustainable Animal Management, Agricultural Women and Hygienic Practices in the Manipulation of Food Products.


OBJECTIVE

Train rural producers in themes that give them the possibility of sustainable development in their communities, motivate business skills and reinforce business-like relationships.


EXPECTED RESULTS

    Promote the development of the agro-ecosystem concept between agricultural families, association leaders and technicians, in addition to give incentives for the planning of sustainable production systems, through agroecology and techniques for the production of shrubs;

    Alert the community about the importance of involving the women and similar social relationships, with the aim to strengthen the local organizations;

    Thoroughly analyze management issues in an association, in its day-to-day work and in the market relations in which it operates either internally or externally;

    Pass on administrative techniques, commercialization and standardization of products obtained from the rural communities involved in the Carbon Stamp Project developed by the Ecological Institute, in a way to promote its broadcasting and commercialization;

    Improve the practice of handling food, seeking to improve the quality of the products, generating conditions for the increase and diversification of the food, using products obtained from the scrublands;

    Increase the community’s knowledge in the creation and handling of small animals (goats, fish and bees) with the aim to give more nutritional value to the food of the agricultural families;

    Improve the abilities of the technicians that give technical assistance to the agrarian credit settlers, in strategic planning and participative techniques.
